About The SDSPOA

The San Diego Schools Police Officers Association (SDSPOA) was established in the late 1950s and incorporated in 2000 to represent the men and women who protect the students of the San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) regarding wages, hours and working conditions. The SDSPOA further assist its members and their families during times of injuries, illness and death through its various programs offered exclusively to its members.

The SDSPOA is unique in the state of California in that it is comprised of our Non-Sworn members (Community Service Officers and Dispatchers), Rank and File Sworn members (Police Officers and Detectives) and Supervisors (Supervising CSO and Sergeants). SDUSD Police Management is also welcome to become an Associate Member for the camaraderie and benefits offered only through the SDSPOA.

Beyond the representation of a typical “Police Union,” the SDSPOA partners with SDUSD, the Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC) and our state and federal legislative representatives for the health and safety of our school community; keeping our students in the forefront. SDSPOA has authored and supported legislation and propositions that benefits our members and our students while opposing those that will harm them.

As a member of our School Community, we welcome your thoughts and comments as to how we can further grow our relation to best serve our students.
